Public Statement by Rodrigo Montoya, young Mapuche Political Prisoner, from the prison of Angol, chile

Rodrigo Montoya, young Mapuche Political Prisoner, from the prison of Angol, to our Mapuche Nation and the national and international public opinion:

I make known the following:

1 - That on June 11 of this year starts the trial against me, in which I have already been sentenced to 5 years and 1 day of imprisonment and which the illustrious Supreme Court determined to declare a mistrial for lack of evidence in the case. The ruling shows the injustice and setups prepared by the corrupt prosecutor Luis Chamorro, who is one of the persecutors of young Mapuche, unjustly imprisoning them and calling for long sentences to make them pay for their territorial reclamations.

2 - I demand a fair trial setting aside the setups and the political pressure exerted by the Chilean judicial system. I hope to regain my freedom as I am completely innocent of the charges they accuse me of.

3 - I appeal to the communities in resistance and individuals aware of the Mapuche fight to support me on Tuesday, June 11 at 9 am in the Oral Court in Angol.

Freedom for all Mapuche political prisoners.
