Another blow to the Mapuche community Wente Winkul Mapu, Lof Chequenko, Chile

This time it was the turn of the Chilean justice, that, following the criminalizing strategy of the Chilean State, found guilty the peñi(brothers) Daniel Levinao Montoya and Paulino Levipán Collán, members of the Community Wente Winkul Mapu of Lof Chekenko.
At the hearing which was held today at 13:00 hours the Angol court judges decided that the peñi are guilty of attempted murder on police officers on duty, and unlawful possession of weapons. Clearly a legally questionable decision, as the witness statements are clearly contradictory according to the lawyer for the community members Lorenzo Morales: "There are versions of two policemen that contradict the statement by the head of the ninth police area of La Araucania, General Ivan Bezmalinovic".
In addition to this contradiction, the own statement of the general of the area, Ivan Bezmalinovic, is questionable as this "individual is widely disputed for participating in the tampering with evidence in the death of Community member Jaime Mendoza Collio."
Although this is not first time that peñis of struggling communities are convicted with such ridiculous evidence, as is the case in this trial. Nor will it be the last time, because as soon as it comes to the subject of the Chilean justice, we know that this is one of the weapons that the Chilean State has to try to stop the processes of Resistance and Reconstruction of Wallmapu.
Neither this judicial blow, even less the militarization, nor the threats of settlers and farmers arming themselves to defend the usurpation and dispossession that they maintain for decades, will bring the community Wente Winkul Mapu to its knees and neither will it the communities that have decided to take up worthy processes of fight for the recovery of ancestral lands. The only people who fear this conflict are the invaders of Wallmapu, for they saw that the process of restoring dignity as a people can not be reversed, until becoming a country with Territory and Sovereignty, a Free and Independent Wallmapu.
