Communiqué No. 3 CAM Mapuche Political Prisoners 18 days on hunger strike.

Mapuche Political Prisoners of the CAM, Héctor Llaitul and Ramón Llanquileo, 18 days into a liquid hunger strike communicate to the Mapuche Nation and the public in general that:

1. - That on Friday November 30 an Appeal of Protection was lodged in the Court of Appeals of Concepción, in order to avoid compliance with a conviction for acts for which had already been acquitted (Fiscal Elgueta case), ultimately asking this Court to act in compliance with the law and resolve the dismissal of the case.

2. - We demand the immediate release of Ramón Llanquileo through weekend outings, since he already meets the requirements requested by gendarmes.

3. - We want an end to the irregular procedures of the gendarmes, carried out during the raids on the cells where the CAM Mapuche political prisoners are serving sentences.

4. - That the almost four years spent by Héctor Llaitul in preventive detention, for various cases of which he has been acquitted, should be counted as time served for his current condemnation.

5. - We give our unconditional support and solidarity to our peñi Leonardo Quijón, who is also on a hunger strike for his demand for a fair trial.

Informing further that:

At 18 days of hunger strike the CAM Mapuche Political Prisoners Héctor Llaitul and Ramón Llanquileo register a significant weight loss of between 9 and 10 kilos respectively.

They manifest ailments such as headaches, dizziness, cramps, irritability and general weakness.

In the particular case of Héctor Llaitul, he manifested also ailments associated with his diagnosis of chronic gastropathy and acute duodenitis.
