Public Statement
To the national and international public opinion we as Support Network for the Mapuche communities in conflict and Mapuche students home Pegun Dugun we want to present the following:
Kiñe(1): That we stand in solidarity and support the just struggle that our peñi (brothers) the Mapuche political prisoners on hunger strike are reclaiming, who were transferred on Wednesday October 10 to the Regional Hospital of Concepción.
Epu(2): We denounce the abuse and violation of the physical and psychological integrity of which were victims our brothers Erick Montoya, Rodrigo Montoya, Paulino Levipan and Daniel Levinao at being transferred to Concepción without consent or notice to them and their families. Because they were deceived informing them that they would be taken to the hospital in Angol.
Küla (3): With this deed becomes evident the intentions of the Chilean state's repressive forces wanting to hide the true state of health of our peñi (brothers), and also pressure them to lay down their action moving them away from their immediate families.
Meli (4): We make clear our discontent and repudiate the actions taken yesterday by the SEREMI of justice, when upon arrival at the hospital we encountered a large contingent of gendarmes, police and special forces police of investigations, who attempted to prevent us entry to the regional hospital to support our peñi (brothers).
Kechu (5): On day 45 of the strike there is still not any kind of response to the demands of our peñi (brothers), making clear the disinterest of the Chilean state and the low profile that they want to give to the hunger strike.
Kayu (6): In the same way we want to make it clear the almost zero coverage that has been given to this strike, by the mainstream media in the country, suggesting that there is a clear communication blockage regarding the struggle of the Mapuche .
