Public statement:

Pu Peñi, pu lamgen,
(brothers and sisters) at our seventh day of hunger strike in the prison of Temuco, we inform the national and international public opinion on the conditions in which we find ourselves.

Kiñe(1): We report that although our requests only comply with institutional intentions, on the part of the Chilean Gendarmerie there is still no response to our demands, that is why we started with this process of a hunger strike assuming all the consequences this implies.

This again shows that those in power in this country want to break our struggle, the state has been tightening its grip on us, depriving us of the things most valuable in our lives, like freedom, keeping us away from our families, our children, but we want them to know, that we are here, with our heads held high, more and more convinced that our struggle will bring the fruits necessary for our people to continue to stand up, so that our children will walk free in our territory.

Epu(2): We remind our peñi and our lamgen that in our demands we include the minimum rights to which we can appeal in these facilities and yet they deprive us of them. Equally so with demanding that they guarantee us a fair trial, with neutral and qualified prosecutors. This is why pu peñi pu lamgen, we ask you to support us in spreading our demands, that you know them and demand them alongside us, through various methods of struggle.

- THE IMMEDIATE TRANSFER OF US, THE 5 MAPUCHE POLITICAL PRISONERS TO THE CCP OF THE CITY OF ANGOL, AS THE PLACE OF IMPRISONMENT NEAREST TO OUR FAMILIES.

- AN END TO THE HUMILIATING AND DEGRADING SEARCHES CONDUCTED BY THE GENDARMERIE OF CHILE ON OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO VISIT US.

- THE REVISION OF PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES,  APPLYING FOR HOUSE ARREST FOR OUR PEÑI(BROTHER) LEONARDO QUIJÓN, WHO, DAY BY DAY FACES A WORSE STATE OF HEALTH, SUFFERING AT THIS STAGE OF THE HUNGER STRIKE RECURRING TACHYCARDIA AND SEVERE PAIN IN HIS LEG.

- THE DISQUALIFICATION OF THE PROSECUTOR CHAMORRO FOR ALL MAPUCHE CAUSES, FOR NOT HAVING THE ETHICAL MAKE UP TO GUARANTEE US A FAIR AND TRANSPARENT TRIAL.

Küla(3): We make known that in our seventh day of hunger strike our health conditions are complicated, our peñi Leonardo Quijón has suffered recurrent tachycardias without medical care, or control.

Our weights have dropped considerably, this being more complex for our peñi that assumed the hunger strike with health problems due to previous hunger strikes and months of clandestinity, as a result of the State terrorism perpetrated against our people.
